True, a calf raise block isn't complicated... DIYing takes a few bucks and about an hour (if that). But, some designs offer a better experience and more calf activation than others.
After trying 2x4s, 45 lb plates, square-style blocks, wedges & ramps, they all had issues; mostly limited range of motion and foot slippage during the stretch. We decided to DIY our own block using 2 pieces of wood, a 4" PVC pipe, and grip tape. The round design felt a lot better... until the PVC cracked during a heavy set. So we drew up what is now our Calf Curve™, tested and refined the prototype, drove Mike's GMC truck over a few times to confirm it won't fail, filed the patent, and are now proud to release it!
✅ The 4.5" height will allow your calves to stretch into deep deficit for full range of motion calf raises.
✅ The 3.8" diameter curved design supports your foot arches while your calves are in a deficit stretch, preventing slippage.
✅ The grip wrapped around it will keep your feet in their starting position throughout your sets.
✅ The curve also lets your toes 'point downward' at the top of each rep for peak calf flexion.
✅ 24" in length to support various foot stances in your calf programming.
✅ Has cutouts for easy pick up.
🔥 Attractive design with black matte powder coating
✅ 12 lbs of 3/16" plate steel
✅ Small storage footprint (24"L x 7"W x 4.5"H)
✅ 2000+ lbs capacity (see truck photo)
✅ Patent pending design
🦅 Made top-to-bottom in Texas, USA
Our apologies in advance when your previous calf block collects dust after you experience the difference. 🤭
** If your floor is wood or vinyl, etc, we highly recommend anti-slip foot pads (Gorilla pads, etc.) before using the Calf Curve™. Please contact us with any questions.

Finally someone got it right. I have been training for over forty years and none of the manufacturers of calf training machines ever cared to address the problem of slipping from the calf block. The area that contacts the feet cannot have a 90 degree edge. One always has to reset the feet in the middle of a set. The diameter of the Calf Curve is perfect. No more resetting the feet. In addition, the build quality is excellent!
Really appreciate you sharing, Kevin, and couldn't agree more. Had to pin your review because it's just dead on. I've come across the rare commercial machine (can't recall the brand) with a slightly curved step, and it always felt better than the square style. but still had to readjust feet mid set. Diameter matters. Happy to hear you're enjoying the Curve as much as we do. Have a happy new year!
This accessory perfects what all other calf blocks get wrong, and that's maximum contact with your feet. Rectangular calf blocks force you to be on just the corner in the most crucial part of the movement, which is that deep stretch. The Calf Curve provides enough surface area through the entire range of the exercise. This allows you to get that deep stretch, AND power through the movement without fear of slipping, or having to readjust midway through your set. Don't be afraid to purchase this. I saw that they were out of stock so I emailed them to see when they were going to have more ready and they got back to me right away with a date. All fitness enthusiast need to know about this!
So appreciate your feedback, Alex. I couldn't have explained it better. Considering all foot sizes out there, we had to design a Goldilox-diameter to achieve exactly that, the most contact possible. Too little causes discomfort under heavy loads, too much causes slippage. One thing we've been trying lately (due to the sticking power of the curve) is pausing during plantarflexion (toes pointed downward at the top of the rep). Even with straight leg raises, it lights the soleus on fire, and still no slippage under 495 lbs. Highly recommended! Thanks again 💪
I first saw the Calf Curve on the Hybrid Resistance channel. Since I'm always looking for better ways to stretch and work my calves I ordered one.
Shipping was fast, and the packaging was excellent.
It's has a super aggressive non slip covering. Which is good as you can get some very low angles with it. A less aggressive covering would let you sip, no chance of that with the Calf Curve. You are on as stable a platform as you could want.
During the exercise-Fast or slow- there is no shifting of the Calf Curve or slippage with your feet.
At first use, the Curve feels strange. But once you get used to it, you find a range of motion like nothing else.
Seriously, if you want to work on your calfs, this is the tool.
Amazing review, Jimi, really appreciate you taking the time! Also, you won't slip at the top of the rep either, the grip and curve allows extreme plantarflexion (pointing the toes down) pausing, which fires the soleus even during straight leg calf raises. If you haven't tried this already we highly recommend it. Thanks again!
This is the perfect calf raise block. Can get a super deep stretch on the calves with the curve design. No edges creating pinch points on the feet with heavy weight. Love it
I was dreaming about this calf raise block for months - and wow, was I right! This is the best calf block ever developed. I love how challenging it is to maintain balance, and you can get an excellent muscle load even without any weight.
Easy storage was a pleasant bonus, as it stands upright on its own.
I also ordered U-caps for my rack to take the exercise to the next level.
Now the only problem I have is that the calf blocks in commercial gyms just don’t compare. I really wish manufacturers would implement this design in their equipment.
Thank you very much, u4cfitness. I can’t wait for your next invention!
I use the calf block with the U-Cups. They work wonderfully together and I’ve never felt safer calf raising with a barbell and my calves are toast after 5 sets with this setup. I can recommend enough. Both the block and the U-Cups are extremely well made and will be part of my leg days.
Big thanks, Jesse! I always liked the phrase 'The real workout starts when you want to stop'. Especially with calves. Pushing 10 to 15 more after the first failure rep is really unsafe to do without a machine or U-Cups. Hope you took some before pics. 😉🔥
Not gonna lie, I was pretty skeptical of this thing. But it has a much smaller footprint than other calf raise blocks I was looking at so I pulled the trigger. There is literally zero slippage and you get the speech that you need. Totally worth it.
Boom! Love hearing it, Matt. Big thanks for that strong review! 🔥
