Yes, calf blocks aren't complicated... DIYing takes a few bucks and about an hour (if that). But, some designs offer a better experience and more calf activation than others.

Back story: After trying 2x4s, 45 lb plates, square-style blocks, wedges / ramps from Amazon (which all "work" but have issues like toe slippage and limited range of motion), we DIY'd our own using 2 blocks of wood, a 4" PVC pipe, and grip tape. The round design felt a lot better... until the PVC cracked during a heavy set. So we drew up what is now our new Calf Curve™, tested and refined the prototype, drove a GMC AT4 truck across it to confirm it won't fail, filed the patent, and are now proud to release it!

Key points:

✅ The 4.5" height will allow your calves to stretch into deep deficit for a full range of motion.
✅ The 3.8" diameter curved design supports your foot arches while your calves are in a deficit stretch.
✅ The curve also lets your toes 'point downward' at the top of your reps for peak calf flexion.
✅ 24" in length to support various foot stances in your calf programming.
✅ The grip wrapped around it will keep your feet in their starting position throughout your sets.
✅ Has cutouts for easy pick up.

No more slipping mid-set; solid grip and a great stretch!

The Curve Block feels fantastic so far. I'm honestly relieved to finally be able to stretch my calves fully without constantly having to re-adjust my foot mid-set due to slipping. The grip on it is solid, and it stays in place, which makes a big difference when focusing on the movement.

I'm also looking forward for my rack to arrive so I can try it out with their U-Cups, which should let me load it heavier and use both together for even more efficient workouts.

Calf curve is the real deal

Recently purchased the calf curve and it has exceeded my expectations. It is solid and very sturdy and the surface has a texture that allows your shoes or feet to grip without slipping. For less than $100 you have a great exercise device. Other calf blocks on Amazon or twice an amount and do not appear to be nearly as good. This is such a bargain
